Time to use up the Wedding Liquor

We got married a few years ago, (like, more than 10.) And yet I still have bottles of alcohol that we moved from our first apartment into our house with. We bought enough alcohol for a full bar at the reception, returning anything that was not opened afterwards. That still left us with a healthy stock of liquor.

We quickly used up the things we drink the most of - rum and vodka, and less quickly but still at a respectible pace the tequilla. Not being a gin drinker, I gave away our gin to a friend, as well as a few other bottles as I found good homes for them. Well, it's time to start working our way through the rest of the stuff.

We've got about 1/2 a bottle of Crown Royal. Now that I think about it, I think that was actually a Christmas grab-bag gift from a work thing. Us QA'ers know how to Par-tay! Tonight's pre-dinner cocktail, then, is a Whiskey Sour, using the recipe I dug up for the 1930's party a few months ago.

I found a video of making Whiskey Sour's online, but they use pre-made sour mix, which I don't have. I do, however, have plenty of homemade Simple Syrup and lemon juice, so we're in business!

I've still got Jack Daniels, Canadian Club, and some sort of Vermouth down in the basement that I've got to figure out what to do with, too.
